APA Citation Style

APA (American Psychological Association) Style is the official editorial style for all academic content at University of Western States. Academic coursework should be written in accordance with APA Style formatting rules and guidelines as set forth in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition

A quick reference guide on the basics of APA Style can be found here:

Additional APA citation examples can be found on the Purdue OWL (Purdue University Online Writing Lab) website

Need a RefWorks account?

At UWS, you can set up your own RefWorks account. Here's how:

2. Enter your UWS student email address
3. You will be prompted to set up a password – this can be anything you want; it is not connected to the UWS system
4. After that, you should be good to go! You might want to bookmark the RefWorks website, for ease of access, but it is also linked off of the library’s databases page, among other places.

If you have trouble getting started with RefWorks or using your account, contact a librarian for assistance.
