webCampus end-of-term update

There are a number of webCampus items that users should be aware of as we move into the break and the Winter 2015 term.

First, there will be a few minor changes to webCampus. On December 29 our version of Moodle will be updated by our LMS provider, Moodlerooms. There will be a short time in which the site will not be available - from 8 pm Pacific Time on Dec. 29 through 3 am PT on Dec. 30.

Also, you might notice in the Courses menu on the webCampus homepage that there has been some retitling/reorganization of the course categories. These were made to align with the UWS catalog and website.

If you are on online student in the MSHNFM or MSESS programs, or taking an undergraduate science course, we plan to open all online courses by the end of the day on Friday, January 2. This will give you the weekend to review the syllabus and get started on the first week's activities.

If you are in the MSHNFM or MSESS programs and register for your courses online at myUWS, please note that you will be enrolled in the course on webCampus 24 to 72 hours after registering. This means if you register online at myUWS prior to January 1, you should have access to your courses on January 2. However, later registrations will result in access at the beginning of Week 1.

If you are a campus student in the DC or MT program, your course site will be opened by your instructor. Some course sites might be available to enter before the term begins, but most will be opened during Week 1.

If you are enrolled in a course and it's open, you'll find it listed under your My Courses link in the purple header bar.

Have a very happy holiday and best of luck in the coming term!
